 Office of the Department of Trade and Industry               

The Office of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) promotes bilateral trade and investment between the United Kingdom and South Africa. The broader mandate of the London office:

 1)   Promotion of exports of high value-added products into the UK, and

 2)   Attract foreign direct investment (FDI) into South Africa by promoting the country as an attractive investment destination.

The DTI's work in the UK is informed by the National Development Plan 2030 (NDP) and the Industrial Policy Action Plan (IPAP).

The Department offers a variety of services to those interested in conducting business in South Africa – ranging from details on how to do business in the country, to the different forms that businesses can take.

Services for international investors include:

·         Investment information: opportunities, incentives, regulations, policies, strategic sectors.

·         Investment marketing: local and foreign marketing initiatives.

·         Business facilitation: visas, investment missions, intergovernmental co-ordination, relocation,     

          business introductions, black economic partnerships, financing and incentives.

·         Outward investment: connections to other African investment promotion agencies, project

          financing, deal structuring.

In addition to investment facilitation, the DTI also offers services in export promotion and marketing, which include:
